about

Number Thirty One, August 2nd, 2012

Navaho Dam

The San Juan River flows out of Colorado south through New Mexico before it heads out west. There is a little town at the base where the river is dammed, and that is the namesake for this instrumental. I imagined it to be a peaceful place in the high desert air when I worked this out (before I went there). The chance to catch rainbow and brown trout is what brings me, but I've always been drawn to a great river and it's stories. I'm there today chasing the intelligent trout.

Number 31 is the imagination of the rolling waters of the San Juan River by Navajo Dam.
